Srijon Chowdhury
B. 1987, Dhaka - Lives in Portland, OR, USA
The subjects depicted in Srijon Chowdhury’s canvases are often portraits of loved ones, whose intimacy and vulnerability is explored through dark tones and bright hints. Recalling suggestions from French Symbolism, medieval tapestry, and American painting of the 1930s, Chowdhury’s canvases are invitations to reflect on the nature and emotions of what it is to be human.
